iWalker: Multi-Sensor Rollator for the Elderly

iWalker is a proof-of-concept multi-sensor rollator-mounted wayfinding system for the elderly. There is a laptop with a contour map of the USU CS Department. The blue circle on the map is the current location of iWalker.

The sensor suite consists of an encoder, a digital compass, and an RFID

Test Scenario :

Fixed Mount Reader with 4 antennas.

Distance of Tags from Antennas is approximately 3 meter ++

3 electrical transformer carried by truck was tagged with Confidex Ironside Metal tag

Windscreen of Truck is tagged with 2 RFID Tags.

We managed to get a good read distance of 3 meter++

RFID activated HTML5 app

A prototype for a RFID controlled HTML5 application. Using JavaScript, Node.js, WebSockets and RFID tags we were able to trigger different events on the application according to which RFID tag was placed on the reader.

Smart Laundry Tracking system (SLTS)

automate and track the entire laundry cycle giving a vivid

360 view of the processes and the laundry items. When a

RFID strip, made out of cloth is attached to laundry, the

system gets to store many customer-related data, simply

by scanning the RFID tag using a handheld RFID reader.

The New Bluetooth Endcap for the RS601 Tag Reader

An early look and proof-of-concept iOS app we built working with the new Bluetooth Low Energy battery endcap for the RS 601 Reader. Send PIT Tag (or other RFID tag) codes directly from the 601 Reader to your phone or tablet, where you can fill out an electronic mobile form, instead of paper.
