RFID Shipping with FedEx
BizSpeed added RFID scanning to Knox Nursery's FedEx Shipping process. Knox is a wholesale plant nursery that uses RFID tags to track the serial number of each bed of plants produced and shipped. For each box packed, a FedEx shipping label is generated via a web service call to FedEx and printed on Zebra printers. The RFID equipment is Symbol/Motorola XR400/440 fixed readers setup as a shipping portal.

RFID Chronicles: Tales from an empty shopping bag
On November 7, 2007 a cargo ship crashed into the Bay Bridge and spilled 58,000 gallons of oil. During Thanksgiving it was impossible to find local Dungeness crab. We used Nokia and Apple cell phones to read and display a video about our trip to the local Davis Farmer's Market in search of fresh Dungeness crab.
