hobby project - Wireless control of Stellaris Evalbot with CC2520-CC2591EMK RF transceiver chips

This is a multi-threaded embedded application to achieve a wireless RF control of a Stellaris Evalbot MCU from another Evalbot by using 2.4 GHz IEEE 802.15.4 communication.

Each Transmitter and Receiver Evalbot has been connected to a Texas Instruments CC2520-CC2591EMK RF transceiver module via SPI communication. The Receiver can be controlled from the Transmitter by pressing push buttons and bump sensors on the Transmitter.

Each Evalbot runs with Micrium's uC/OS-III Real-time OS.

ATtiny85 RF Transmitter & Receiver

I made a demo Tx & Rx set to see if I can use ATtiny chips for RF projects. Turns out I can!

For software I only used the regular VirtualWire Arduino library which already supports ATtiny. The code is pretty basic. Tx module transmits a hello signal each second and blinks the led while transmitting. Rx module blinks the led upon receiving a valid message.

Since the coin cell is only 3V the range is very short (a few centimeters without antennas) but it works well on a 5V power...
