RADLab puts RFID security systems to the test

SAIT's Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) Application Development Lab (RADLab) assembled devices for a client to test its RFID security systems. These systems are tested using a Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) key, a device which reads and records data transferred between the RFID reader and the control system.

Keller Public Library RFID system

The Keller Public Library recently unveiled its new Radio Frequency Identification System, an inventory tool that will help staff remain efficient and effective as the facility's patronage continues to grow.

Purchased with assistance from a $30,000 donation from the Friends of the Keller Library, the new system works off unique radio frequency IDs placed on all the library's materials. Tagged in this way, the materials can be checked out quicker and more easily found when they've been...

Security System RFID and Keypad 4x3

Radio-frequency identification (RFID) is the use of a wireless non-contact system that uses radio-frequency electromagnetic fields to transfer data from a tag attached to an object, for the purposes of automatic identification and tracking. Some tags require no battery and are powered and read at short ranges via magnetic fields (electromagnetic induction). Others use a local power source and emit radio waves (electromagnetic radiation at radio frequencies). The tag contains electronically...
