RapID: A Framework for Fabricating Low-Latency Interactive Objects with RFID Tags

RFID tags can be used to add inexpensive, wireless, batteryless sensing to objects. However, quickly and accurately estimating the state of an RFID tag is difficult. In this work, we show how to achieve low-latency manipulation and movement sensing with off-the-shelf RFID tags and readers. Our approach couples a probabilistic filtering layer with a monte-carlo-sampling-based interaction layer, preserving uncertainty in tag reads until they can be resolved in the context of interactions. This...

LPS RFID Encoding System

Feed, transport, read, encode and verify RFID Tags with Liberty Packaging System. Meeting the rigorous demands of the RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) industry, Liberty Packaging Systems has teamed up with Kirk-Rudy who has developed and manufactured high speed equipment to encode and imprint hang tags primarily used in the garment industry. RFID labels can easily be applied to most flat items using the KR555 RFID Labeling System. www.libertypackagingsystems.co.uk

SMART TAG: Visual RFID Tag

Smart Tag, or "Visual RFID Tag" display, uses electronic paper with a minimal level of electric consumption only when the display is rewritten. When Smart Tag is used instead of paper labels, the result is respectful of the environment, which is being damaged by the use and disposal of paper labels. When not rewriting, the Smart Tag uses no electric power and can maintain the information displayed on the screen even when the power supply is cut. The data includes text, graphs and barcodes that...

RFID tag encoding - putting into production at seed sowing

Demonstrates the RFID tag encoding station at Knox Nursery - used to encode plant trays prior to putting them into production. Knox is a wholesale plant nursery that uses RFID tags to track the serial number of each bed of plants produced and shipped. The encoding station encodes tags read by a barcode scanner on an assembly line - volume can be up to 20,000 tags at a time in peak season. The RFID equipment is Symbol/Motorola XR400/440 fixed readers setup as a shipping portal.
