Arduino RFID Door Lock using NFC Tag and RC522
In this video you can see how i have installed an arduino and RC522 module to my bedroom door, so you can use an NFC sticker as the swipe access card along side the RC522 RFID module being controlled by an arduino uno, to keep a room secure.
the sketch file i used is available at

NFC Electric Locking latch
DIY Lock latch for a cabinet that will open with an NFC or RFID card. Uses an Arduino Uno, NFC/RFID reader, some code I wrote to recognize my individual MiFare cards. The latch is a solenoid actuated by a 9v battery controlled by the Arduino through a relay (Arduino only outputs 5v).
The plan is to build a wooden cabinet with no way to open it but the NFC reader inside. It will slide open on its own using hydraulic door openers. I'll post more when the cabinet is complete

- cheap RC522 module (currently available for about $1-1.20)
- uses MRC522 library
- OLED screen for output
- Should work with most 13.56 MHz cards and tags
- MRC522 module should be used with 3.3V but it works at 5V too
- To scan Visa payWave and MasterCard PayPass cards use 5V or better external coil
