Munich Public Library Leading the way with RFID

The Munich City Library (Muenchner Stadtbliothek) has the largest library RFID installation in Europe, with approximately 3 million books and media in circulation across the central library and its 22 branches. The self-service system for checking out and returning books and other media has proven extremely popular with library patrons - and with library staff, who are able to focus on other tasks.

The books and media contain RFID chips based on the ISO 15693 standard.

Dandenong Library Book Sorter | City of Greater Danenong

The Greater Dandenong Libraries not have an automated book sorter at the Dandenong Library.

The sorter is an automated system that uses RFID technology (radio frequency identification) to identify and automatically sort returned materials into dedicated returns bins. Each bin represents a collection area in the library.

RFID Library implemented in AmbientTalk: connection/disconnection

This movie shows a library demo application developed in AmbientTalk. The books in the library are tagged with RFID tags and are scanned using a low range RFID reader connected via USB.
