Innovative proven tracking
Vero RFID (radio frequency identification) is a proven technology that is now used in many different industrial, retail and public sector applications.
RFID systems use small tracking tags, which are attached to each item that needs to be tracked. Each tag contains a uniquely coded microchip and antenna, used to broadcast a signal to a suitable receiving device, which converts the wireless signal to a digital output.
Benefits:
No need for line of sight to tag
Exceptionally accurate read rates by comparison with...

Vehicle re-identification[ edit ]
RFID E-ZPass reader attached to the pole and its antenna (right) used in traffic monitoring in New York City by using vehicle re-identification method
Vehicle re-identification methods require sets of detectors mounted along the road. In this technique, a unique serial number for a device in the vehicle is detected at one location and then detected again (re-identified) further down the road. Travel times and speed are calculated by comparing the time at which a specific device is detected by pairs of sensors. This can be done using the Media Access Control (MAC) addresses from Bluetooth devices, [1] or using the...

What is the difference between passive and active RFID ...
Answer by Tigerwhit
Confidence votes 41.7K
Active systems have a much longer range than passive systems due to having an internal battery. Because of this an active tag will be much larger and more expensive than a passive tag. The passive tag will basically convert the RF signal from the Interrogator or reader and turn it into energy to return the signal.
Active tags will often be found on larger sized shipping containers/products whereas a passive tag, due to its small form factor can be used on any variety of products, containers, boxes...etc.
Passive tags are usually more durable than...

I am working on designing a small RFID reader circuit that is based on the PN532 chip and I would like to get some feedback. My background isn't RF engineering, so I am not sure about many things.
I'll summarize the main questions first, and then describe in details what I've done:
I am using miniVNA Tiny for taking measurements.

Q1: which parameter (SWR, RP, RL) should I look at for figuring out the self resonance of a circuit?
Sometimes the sign flip of RP correlates...
