What is RFID? How RFID works? RFID Explained in Detail

In this video, RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) Technology is explained by MAC Packaging.

So, in this video, what is RFID, what is inside this RFID system, how RFID works, and application of RFID have been explained.

What is RFID?

RFID is technology which works on radio frequency and it is used for the auto-identification for the different object.

The RFID system mainly consists of two parts.

1) RFID Reader or Interrogator

2) RFID Tags

In this RFID system, this RFID reader...

RFID Tag Sensor Using Smart Attendance System

RFID tags:

Now, three different kinds of RFID tags are commercially available.

1) Passive tags

2) Active tags

3) Semi-passive tags

These passive tags do not have any power supply. They used to get their power from the incoming radio waves from the Readers.

While active tags have a power source for their internal circuitries. And for sending the response to the reader also, it uses its own power supply.

In the case of semi-passive tags, they have a power supply for internal circuitries,...

RFID Display of Semi-Passive Tag Hack

The display model testing for a presentation at Purdue University's Springfest 2012. A semi-passive tag has a simple switch integrated into the antenna circuit to prevent eavesdropping (and having to carry a 'as seen on tv' steel wallet). Seen is a 125kHz circuit harvested from a standard passive card interfaced with a tactile swtich, rapid prototyped with my RepRap Prusa.

Off the Beaten Path in Pervasive Computing

Many of our current research projects at MERL are squarely in the pervasive-computing realm, such as: interactive multi-user tabletop displays, operator-identifying automotive controls, digital home networking, location-aware RFID tags, semi-passive RFID tags for sensor networks, novel physical and chemical sensors, speech-based information retrieval for mobile devices, and vision-based person/object tracking.  But because the results of this work have been or will be presented in forums...

GETSMART Semi UHF RFID tags with LED and sound

Introduction

The Semi UHF RFID tags is based on the 860mhz~960mhz working frequency of passive RFID tags, but added a sound and light. Thus it can be used in the application which could find the items exactly where it is.

It can used on a lot different applications for Quick Search, such as warehouse inventory of the object positioning, clothing cap find positioning, book finding, locating, file locating, barrels locating...etc
