Readers for UHF RFID Wireless Sensors (Part 6 of 7) Tutorial

Learn more at http://www.phaseivengr.com - the inventors of battery-free wireless RFID sensing. Readers that support UHF RFID sensors are explained in this video. These readers include Intermec (Hand Held and Desktop), Feig OBID, ThingMagic, and custom readers. All of these readers (other than the custom reader) are off the shelf and use firmware developed by the reader manufacturer to read RFID sensor tags. The tags can be battery-free passive RFID sensors, Battery-Assisted Passive (BAP)...

iWalker: Multi-Sensor Rollator for the Elderly

iWalker is a proof-of-concept multi-sensor rollator-mounted wayfinding system for the elderly. There is a laptop with a contour map of the USU CS Department. The blue circle on the map is the current location of iWalker.

The sensor suite consists of an encoder, a digital compass, and an RFID

reader-antenna unit. The RFID antenna is attached to a PVC pipe in front

of the walker, about 5 cms from the floor. It reads passive RFID tags in

smart mats. A smart mat is a carpet with a grid of...

Supply chain, blockchain, and linking the real to the digital.

The last video (for now) on blockchain and supply chain.

A final piece of the puzzle is to irrefutably link the physical objects and participants to their digital representations on the blockchain (tokens and wallets). This is especially tricky in open blockchains, where authentication becomes extremely important.

I know of four main ways:

* physical unclonable functions

* QR codes

* RFID tags

* IoT devices

I discuss each of these in terms of its strengths and weaknesses, which are usually...

RFID Asset Tracking

www.abrfid.com - American Barcode and RFID offers RFID Asset Tracking:

Problem - How do I know where my assets are deployed in the field? I need a method to quickly inventory my assets and make sure they are where my system thinks they are.

Solution - ABC Scan RFID Asset Tracking using Metal Optimized Passive RFID tags

Why Use RFID - Barcodes are great for Asset Tracking but inventories are still dependant on the user finding each barcode and scanning it. Passive RFID tags transmit their...

IteMinder(en)

IteMinder can help users find property in a room using passive RFID and an autonomous robot. First, we attach RFID tags to the target items and at typical locations in a room. We also attach an RFID reader and a laser rangefinder to the robot. The robot can move around the entire room automatically while avoiding obstacles using the laser rangefinder. When the robot finds a tagged item, it uploads the tag ID and location information to the database. Users can then browse target items and their...

i2TRACKING: Precise indoor identification and positioning (subtitles)

The i2TRACKING solution leverages UWB technology to send high-speed data over short distances, using little energy and a smaller deployment of beacons, presenting better indoor precision.

RFID tags are passive, low-cost, low energy-consumption solutions. The combination of both technologies achieves highly efficient and precise results.

Rfid Inventory System - Campion Labs

Keeping track of livestock can be a daunting task. Especially if you have a big farm with lots of animals. Luckily there are technology which is great to use just for this purpose. Radio-frequency identification or RFID is a small tracking unit that is implanted in each animal. With a RFID reader and RFID inventory system you can then keep track of your livestock.

Unlike a barcode, the RFID device does not need to be in sight of the reader for it to pick it up. The two main type of power...

Gun design uses RFID to identify owner

TriggerSmart startup in Ireland has patented a system that uses an RFID reader embedded in the handle of a firearm to verify the identity of its owner. Patrick O'Shaughnessy came up with the idea after reading about a police officer who had been shot with his own gun. With the help from researchers at Georgia Tech Ireland, O'Shaughnessy and his partner Robert McNamara were able to design a prototype.

A passive, without batteries, RFID tag is embedded in either a bracelet or a ring that is...
