BeagleBone Black RFID ( MFRC 522 ) Read Write in Android

In this video shows Read and Write Smart Card ( Mifare 1k , Ultralight ) using Android application run on Android Ported Beagle Bone Black.

This is a very useful application of RFID (Radio-frequency identification) and is very commonly used in institutes, offices, homes and so on. An RFID system consists of a MFRC522 (RFID Reader) and a Smart Card . A Smart Card or tag has a unique serial number which is identified by the reader. Here RFID has been interfaced with BeagleBone Black to provide...

Arduino + RFID + Unity Race Car Simulator Prototype

Here is a project I'm currently working on combining an Arduino with RFID reader/writer which reads vehicle tag numbers and loads their 3d models into Unity. It's similar to Skylanders, except with real world vehicles.

My next step is to make the cars swap out mid race. So if the player flips the first car over or crashes it, they can scan another car in and continue the race.

This could be fun if the cars have weapons a la Mario Kart and the more cars, trucks, tanks you collect, the more...

Wave X - RFID Demo

ARC's Wave-X absorber is an EMI and RF interference solution for near-field applications from 5 MHz - 110 GHz. In RFID applications, our materials will quite noise surrounding your RFID tag in order for RFID readers to accurately pick up it's signals. In this video, you will see that without our materials, an RFID tag placed near or backed with metal will not work properly. However, after placing our Wave-X material in between the RFID tag and the metal plate, the reads can successfully read...

How to Use the RFID Power Mapper

https://www.atlasrfidstore.com/

The RFID Power Mapper is a pocket size device that helps to map an RF field up to 15 meters (49 feet) in range for an RFID application. Only using RF power, this device is very sensitive and is capable of showing constructive and destructive interference patterns caused by multipath. It works with all known UHF RFID readers and can indicate to the user where a Gen2 tag may or may not be readable.

This video covers the basics of the RF Power Mapper and explains...

Access Control with RFID Project by Skyfi Labs

RFID (Radio Frequency Identification) is used for exchanging information wirelessly with the use of electronagnetic fields. RFID devices are a pretty common sight nowadays at offices, malls, toll gates, etc. These RFID devices are used along with RFID readers to capture information and process them accordingly for a specific action like opening a gate, ringing a buzzer, etc. In this project you will build a RFID based Authentication system which can open and close a gate by detecting the...

RFID under water - Test in metal pot

Liquids inhibit RFID power transfer and communication and we wanted to test it.

RFID reader, reader antenna and a sensor tag (Stella battery free LED tag) were set up in a very simple configuration.

You'll see it by yourself in the video but we had a funny result. We can read the tag when on water, can even read the tag underwater when at around 5 cm but we lose communication - the LED does not light up anymore - once we go deeper... until it reaches the bottom. We can read the tag when...
